The man that is a preacher’s son that sings gospel music like it’s his job on American Idol 2013 and supposedly takes us all to this special place when he opens his mouth was charged with a felony back in 2010 after stealing a laptop from a church event??? That’s right folks, Curtis Finch, Jr. was arrested back in 2010 and charged with a class C felony, that was later dropped to a misdemeanor when he pled guilty. Actual court records on Curtis can be seen below, thanks to an exclusive report from Wetpaint.
I never liked this guy and knew there was something wrong with him. He was arrogant and his true colors shined through during Hollywood Week when Charlie Askew, his group member at the time, became ill and Curtis just thought it was a great opportunity to focus on himself and take out an opponent! I want to smack his smug face every week when he sings, but this just cracks me up.
He acts like this amazing singer and he is singing for God. Mariah Carey praises him week in and week out, but maybe she will be preaching a new tune? In the court records that Wetpaint obtained from JD Evans, on behalf of Prosecuting Attorney Robert P. McCulloch, the victim “reported his laptop computer stolen from his book bag while he attended a choral event at a church in Shiloh, Illinois.” To show how stupid Curtis is, he then went and offered to sell it to another one of the students!
That student contacted the victim and the sting was set-up by Richmond Heights police. Up walks Curtis with the stolen laptop and he was arrested on the spot and charged with the class C felony, which was dropped when he pled guilty to a class A misdemeanor, according to Evans: “Our records and those of the Missouri Courts show he pled guilty to the amended charge of receiving stolen property.” Because of the lesser charge, Curtis Finch, Jr. was able to avoid any jail time, but he paid a $1,000 fine and $10 civil judgement fee, which I am sure his preacher father tried to sweep under the rug real quick!
